The story of how I got engaged
When we first met: December 2019
When we got together: November 15th 2021
When we got engaged: April 7th 2022
That’s just a little backstory, so you would know lmao. But this is the story of how my fiancé had proposed to me 🥺🥺😍😍
So it was April 7th, 2022, 2 days before my birthday. (Before my 18th birthday that is) and I wanted to go back to my hometown. So being the loving boyfriend he is, he got off work, and planned it. We went down to my hometown on April 5th, and was down there a few days and saw some exciting things, walked the college campus, saw the arch, and just showed him around a bit. On the night of the 6th, my old best friend wanted invite me to her party that she was throwing since I was in town and it was almost my birthday, and so we went. (Let’s just say I had wayyyy too much of everything, bc I blacked out.) my fiancé was planning on asking me while we were at my friends house, but I kinda messed that up 😅😅 (sorry babe!!) Well, the next day, he wanted to go see our local zoo and my favorite place next to where I grew up. So we started in the zoo, not knowing this whole time that he had the ring in his pocket 🥰 (yes the zoo is important 😂)
We both had stopped to look at this bald eagle, I have no idea why, but we both did, like it was the most majestical creature there was, and evidentially, He took note of that.
The next place on our list was the Watson Mill Bridge State Park….
Where he took me out on the ledge, and pointed to the line of trees, and told my gullible butt “hey babe, look there’s an eagle!!!” As I look, he gets down on one knee behind me, on the ledge, with a beautiful bridge behind us and water flowing under us. (For further context, he is 6’4.5 and I am 5’4) As he gets down on one knee, he was scared to say anything, so he just reached up and tapped my shoulder, I turn around and cover my mouth, seeing him on one knee. And he says to me “I told you I wanted to spend forever with you, will you marry me and make that statement more believable?” I chuckle, with slight tears rolling down my face, and say yes.
I just thought maybe the world would like to know my engagement story, I find it cute and funny. 😄
