More Art Less War
How is this lemon 8 thing going anyhow ? Is there room for artists ? Of do I focus not on my outdoor adventures and thrifting finds ??
new here , I am just trying to be brave and put my art out everywhere while I’m on the journey to be a fulltime artist . And that means being vulnerable while I grow and evolve.
Stepping into the art world, especially as a new artist aiming to make it full-time, is a rollercoaster of emotions. I often wonder, like many of you, how creative pursuits can feel like both a massive pressure and an incredible liberation. On one hand, there's the internal pressure to create something meaningful, to constantly evolve, and to meet self-imposed standards of perfection. Then there's the external pressure – the fear of judgment, the struggle for recognition, and the financial uncertainties that come with pursuing an unconventional path. It can feel overwhelming, like carrying the weight of your entire artistic identity on your shoulders. But interwoven with that pressure is an undeniable sense of liberation. When I'm truly immersed in my art, that's when I feel most free. It's the freedom to express myself without filters, to explore ideas that captivate me, and to translate my inner world into something tangible. This creative process allows me to escape the everyday and find a unique voice. That moment when a piece finally clicks, or when someone connects deeply with my work – that's pure liberation. It’s about finding my own way to make it my unique contribution to the world. This brings me to the powerful role art plays in challenging societal norms, especially around vulnerability. Society often tells us to be strong, to hide our flaws, and to present a polished facade. But art, by its very nature, demands authenticity. When artists choose to be vulnerable in their work, they're not just sharing a piece of themselves; they're also creating a space for others to feel seen and understood. We're showing that it's okay to be imperfect, to struggle, and to question. My journey involves putting my raw, evolving art out there, and in doing so, I hope to inspire conversations about what it truly means to be human. Think about it: an artist who shares a deeply personal struggle through a painting, a musician who writes about heartbreak, or a writer who explores uncomfortable truths. These acts of artistic vulnerability resonate because they challenge the norm of emotional suppression. They invite empathy and foster connection. By opening ourselves up through our creations, we subtly reshape perceptions of strength and weakness. It's not about being fearless, but about being brave enough to share our fears and hopes anyway. For fellow artists navigating this path on platforms like Lemon8, remember that your vulnerability is a superpower. Don't shy away from sharing your process, your struggles, and your triumphs. Every stroke, every idea, every moment of self-doubt and breakthrough is part of your unique story. By embracing this, you not only liberate yourself but also empower others to do the same, making the art world a more honest and connected place. It’s about letting your art speak your truth and inviting others into that space.
