He almost leaves her there, but decides otherwise. When he finally gets her to get in the truck he knows something is very wrong. She doesn't speak, she only stares. They have no choice, but to seek refuge in his cabin and wait out the storm. Will Wes be able to figure out what happened to Sage or will her father come knocking to claim what he thinks is his?🚨This will be a horror novel, not dark romance. Hey everyone! It’s been an incredible journey working on my upcoming books, and honestly, managing a debut novel alongside two other works-in-progress definitely keeps me on my toes! As an indie author, I've learned that the biggest battle often isn't with plot holes or character arcs, but with that little voice of self-doubt. It's so easy to feel overwhelmed, to question if your stories are good enough, or if you can even finish them. This is where prioritizing mental health becomes absolutely crucial for any writer. For me, staying grounded means having outlets beyond writing. Sometimes, I find myself escaping into a bit of gaming – it’s a fantastic way to switch off my brain, de-stress, and recharge my creative batteries. Other times, inspiration strikes from exploring new places. I love visiting historic cities; the architecture, the stories embedded in the streets, and even just people-watching can spark an entirely new scene or character idea for my romance novels or even my darker horror pieces. It reminds me that stories are everywhere, and that broadens my perspective. Specifically for my fellow romance authors out there, the emotional investment in crafting compelling love stories is immense. You're not just writing a book; you're building worlds where readers can fall in love alongside your characters. This passion is beautiful, but it can also be draining. I've found it essential to set realistic writing goals, take regular breaks, and not compare my journey to others. Celebrating small wins – finishing a chapter, getting a great beta reader feedback, or even just writing consistently for a week – can make a huge difference in maintaining motivation and combating burnout. Juggling multiple projects, like my mafia romance 'Nine Years After,' the spicy southern romance 'Love, Cattle, & Other complications,' and the intense horror of 'In The Dying Light,' means constantly shifting gears. It requires discipline, but also self-compassion when things don't go as planned. Remember that every word you write is a step forward, and your unique voice is what readers are waiting for. Don't let imposter syndrome win. Keep nurturing your creativity, protect your well-being, and write the stories that only you can tell. It’s a marathon, not a sprint, and every indie author needs to remember to take care of themselves along the way.
