... Read moreIf you’ve ever found yourself scrolling through adorable dog pictures and pausing on a French Bulldog with that extra special, prominent wrinkle over their nose – yes, a 'Bigrope Frenchie' – then you already have a glimpse into my world! My sweet boy, Kyoto, is undeniably one of these charming creatures. From the moment I saw his distinctive 'rope' and his lovely light-colored coat, I was completely smitten. There’s just something about their unique, expressive faces that immediately makes you fall in love. He truly embodies that iconic Frenchie look, and his little snorts and snores are music to my ears! Kyoto absolutely lives up to his 'troublemaker' title, but always in the most endearing way possible. He’s incredibly smart, which means he’s constantly figuring out new ways to get into mischief or, more often, to demand cuddles and attention. One moment he’ll be curled up, looking like an angel fast asleep on his favorite, plush cushion. The next, he’s 'helping' me unroll the toilet paper, 'supervising' my cooking from dangerously close to my feet, or orchestrating a complex scheme to get an extra treat. His playful antics and stubborn streak make every day an unpredictable adventure. Frenchies are known for their strong personalities, and Kyoto definitely has one that fills our home with laughter and a little bit of chaos – in the best possible sense! Living with a Bigrope Frenchie does come with its unique responsibilities, but it’s all part of the deep bond we share. Their signature 'rope' and facial folds need a little extra attention to keep clean and dry to prevent any skin irritation. I make it a fun, gentle routine to wipe them down a few times a week with a soft, damp cloth. Also, because French Bulldogs are a brachycephalic breed, managing their breathing and ensuring they don't overheat is crucial. This means keeping him cool in the summer with special cooling mats and shorter walks during peak heat, and ensuring he’s cozy and warm in the winter. Kyoto particularly loves basking in sunny spots or snuggling up right in front of our beautifully decorated Christmas tree during the holidays – it’s his absolute favorite spot, making him look like a festive little statue! Creating a comfortable and safe environment is key for these little guys. Kyoto has his favorite spots all over the house – usually wherever there’s a soft blanket or a sunbeam. His beloved cushion (often positioned strategically to see everything going on!) is his kingdom. Providing him with good quality food, plenty of mental stimulation through puzzle toys, and consistent, positive training has been vital. They might be small, but their personalities are huge, and they thrive on interaction and routine. Ultimately, every day with Kyoto is a wonderful reminder of the immense joy and unconditional love a pet can bring into your life. He’s more than just a dog; he’s family, a furry comedian, and my constant source of comfort and happiness. If you’re considering welcoming a Bigrope Frenchie into your home, be prepared for a whole lot of personality, a dash of stubbornness, a bit of mischief, and an endless supply of heartwarming moments. They truly make life brighter and more interesting, one snort and cuddle at a time!
