First, definitely make a reservation to get the free truffle Boston lobster—it’s a generous promotion that adds great value to your meal. The dishes are on the pricier side, but sharing a variety among a group makes it worthwhile. One dish you shouldn’t miss is the crispy 'Bing Chuan' brinjal, which surprisingly became one of my favorites. The grilled Kurabuta black char siew served with snow pear also stood out for its unique flavor combo. For seafood lovers, the live marble goby served pan-fried with shark cartilage soup is a must-try, though I found the soup a little salty on its own; pairing it with the fish is best. They also serve specialty crab dishes like the raw marinated roe crab and the chilled drunken yellow roe crab, which my family loved—if you enjoy spicy seafood, these are worth ordering. For a lighter end to the meal, I recommend the Teochew sweet soups like orh nee and peach gum in Hokkaido milk, which are delightful desserts. Overall, the ambiance, attentive service, and high-quality food at Fu Yuan make it ideal for special outings or family dinners. Just be aware the bill can add up quickly with multiple dishes, so sharing is key. For anyone craving authentic Teochew cuisine with a modern touch and a chance to indulge in exquisite Boston lobster, Fu Yuan Teochew Dining @ Clarke Quay is definitely worth a visit.
