#1 Gelato in Australia is now in Singapore ✨ MESSINA

We were at 18 Cross Street when we stumbled upon the FIRST Messina Gelato shop opened in Singapore

I’ve had Messina countless times in Sydney given this has been recommended by my local friends there, hence to see they had an outlet opened in SG was a total Friday pick-me-up 🌈

long queues even at 130pm on a Friday. Visited by locals and westerners alike

Their best sellers are the PISTACHIO PRALINE which is a Pistachio flavour and creamy texture and extremely generous chunky bits of pistachio, and the MANGO SORBET

the TIRAMISU also tasted amazing, with chunky bits of wafer in it

Local singaporean flavours recommended would be the CENDOL with the authentic gula melaka taste. I wouldn’t recommend the TAU HUEY flavour though as it was a tad bit too sweet for liking.

Give it a try! It’s $8/scoop and $14/double scoop.

💯 💯

The shop buzzes with excitement and long queues well into the afternoon, showing how quickly it became popular among both locals and tourists. What makes Messina special is not just the creamy, high-quality texture, but the generous use of real ingredients. The Pistachio Praline stands out with abundant crunchy pistachio pieces, offering a satisfying nutty bite that elevates the smooth gelato base. The Mango Sorbet bursts with fresh tropical fruit flavor, perfect for Singapore’s warm climate. Another highlight is the Tiramisu flavor, which surprised me with its authentic, rich coffee notes combined with crunchy wafer bits, adding a delightful texture contrast. The Singapore-exclusive Cendol gelato impressed with its genuine gula melaka sweetness, reminiscent of the traditional local dessert. It’s a clever fusion that respects local taste buds while maintaining Messina’s premium quality. However, I found the Tau Huey flavor a bit too sweet for my preference, so it might be worth trying in small amounts first. Prices are reasonable for premium gelato at $8 per scoop and $14 for a double, making it a great indulgence for a casual treat or social outing. The friendly ambiance and vibrant crowd make this spot a new favorite in the city’s dessert scene. If you’re a gelato enthusiast or looking for a refreshing dessert with authentic ingredients and creative flavors, Messina in Singapore is worth the hype. Be prepared to share this hidden gem with friends, and maybe try the weekly specials to explore even more unique flavors inspired by their Australian roots combined with local inspirations.
