Why is my tissue black after I oil my Wren wok?
⏭️Swipe right on the post to understand better, fam! 🥘🖤
So, yeah, if your tissue turned black after oiling your Wren wok, it’s usually normal. It’s just excess oil mixed with tiny bits of carbonized food particles from the seasoning process. Don’t worry - this is part of your wok’s natural maturing. As you keep using and caring for it, the black residue will fade, and the patina will darken and stabilize. Your wok is getting better with age, just like we want. No rust, no paint, just your seasoning developing. It’s a slow process, but worth it! @Machamoi
