What do you think of the merge so far?

I recently updated to adhere by the new features that Lemon8 has. Honestly, not much has changed. I honestly did not know what to expect with Lemon8 merging with tiktok.

However, here’s what changed. Once you merge and link your tiktok account, your username on tiktok is now your username on lemon8 and can only be changed in the direct app of tiktok. You cannot have two different usernames from your tiktok unless you have two different tiktoks. Just like on threads you can follow accounts you follow on tiktok from Lemon8, so when they decide to make a Lemon8 account they will already have followers when they claim their Lemon8 account.

You can allow your Lemon8 account to be searched. As for deleting your account. If you try to delete your Lemon8 account, you WILL be deleting Lemon8 as well.

I am sure this is just the beginning. Do not know what this means for the tiktok ban, but I do know more changes will be coming.

... Read moreHey everyone! So, like many of you, I've been diving deeper into the Lemon8-TikTok merge and wanted to share some more practical insights beyond my initial reactions. One of the biggest things I've noticed, and something many of you might be wondering about, concerns your Lemon8 profile screen and TikTok account settings page. First off, the whole 'Lemon8 is Powered by TikTok' integration means that how you manage your identity across both platforms has fundamentally shifted. When I first logged in after the merge, I realized that my Lemon8 username was automatically synced with my TikTok handle. This was a bit of a surprise! The OCR results also highlighted this, noting 'Can't edit username on Lemon8. Change it on your TikTok account.' This is super important: if you’re thinking of rebranding or just prefer different names, you must do it directly within your TikTok app. I found this out the hard way, trying to tweak things on Lemon8 only to be redirected. Another cool, yet somewhat hidden, feature that cropped up on my Lemon8 profile page is the option to 'Show content on TikTok.' This is pretty big because it means your Lemon8 posts could potentially appear in TikTok search results, opening up a whole new audience. From my experience, if you're looking to grow your presence, definitely consider enabling this! It’s an interesting way for your 'lifestyle community feed' content to reach more eyes. And speaking of reaching more people, the prompt to 'Follow the same accounts you follow on TikTok' was a game-changer for me. It instantly connected me with friends and creators I already admire, making my Lemon8 feed feel much more familiar and curated from day one. This really helps bridge the gap between Lemon8 users and TikTok users, making both platforms feel more connected. I also noticed that if you have a distinct Lemon8 icon or Lemon8 logo that you've used for branding, consistency across both platforms might become even more crucial now. What about linking? The OCR mentioned, 'Your Lemon8 link is now shown on your TikTok profile.' This is fantastic for creators! It streamlines driving traffic from your TikTok audience directly to your Lemon8 content. I've already seen some of my favorite TikTok accounts leveraging this, especially those with a solid 5k followers or more, to cross-promote their lifestyle content. It’s a smart move for anyone serious about building their online presence. Finally, a quick but crucial note on account management. The article briefly touched upon it, but it bears repeating: deleting your Lemon8 account has serious implications for your TikTok connection. It's not just a simple unlink; it impacts your entire merged identity. Always double-check those settings before making any big decisions! Overall, this merge, while still in its early stages, seems to be pushing Lemon8 towards a more integrated experience. It’s all about making content and connections more fluid between the two apps. I'm excited to see what else they roll out, but for now, managing your profile and understanding these new linking options are key to navigating the 'Powered by TikTok' era!
