Hollywood Flower Pot
This is the Hollywood Flower Pot, a classic example of programmatic architecture where the building mimics the product sold inside.
• Location: 1124 North Vine Street, Hollywood (at the corner of Vine and Banner).
• Origin: Built in the 1920s, it was originally an ice cream stand called "The Freezer" before being converted into a flower shop.
• Design: The giant "pot" was topped with 10-foot-tall metal flowers to catch the eye of passing motorists.
While the building is no longer there, it remains an icon of the "California Crazy" style of roadside attractions.
