What I Did Today 🌸
Had a 10 am to 12 am classes, I'm currently loving my bag set up (still needs more pins). I then went to Five Below and Hot Topic, wasn't expecting to find Sumikko Gurashi blind boxes 🫠 I got those and 2 Mario Kart pins. Found the cutest Funko Pop and neck pillow that I've been needing. I had to do some errands but I decided to do them another day. Came home, refreshed myself and played a bit on my switch before I took a nap. I work night shift so I made sure to get enough rest before my scheduled time. That was how my Monday ended up being. 🤗 #dayinmylife #lemon8challenge
Hey Lemon8 fam! Inspired by my recent Monday adventure, I wanted to share a little more about how I juggle everything and still make time for the things I love – especially with a night shift schedule. It’s all about finding that sweet spot of balance and self-care! Working nights definitely means my days look a bit different. After my morning classes, which usually run until noon, I prioritize winding down before my next shift. My secret? A good, solid nap! It recharges me so I can be energized for work. I’ve found that creating a dark, quiet space for my pre-shift snooze is a game-changer. Blackout curtains are a must-have for anyone on a similar schedule. And when I wake up, a quick refresh helps me transition into ‘work mode.’ One of the best parts of my day, and a great way to de-stress, is my little collecting hobby! You saw I found some amazing goodies yesterday. The thrill of finding Sumikko Gurashi blind boxes is just unmatched! I was so excited to snag those Series 8 ones that glow in the dark – a total surprise find at Five Below. And yes, my collection is growing! Besides those, I also loved finding the Calico Critters blind bag and a new Funko Pop figure. For my growing collection of pins, my Jansport backpack is currently my main display, but I'm always looking for more creative ways to show them off. That Kirby plush keychain also adds a perfect touch of cuteness, and those Mario Kart pins are just iconic! It’s such a fun way to express my personality. After my errands (which sometimes, let’s be honest, get pushed to another day – because self-care!), my absolute favorite way to relax is diving into my Nintendo Switch. There’s nothing quite like unwinding with a casual game like Pokémon Cafe Remix. It’s the perfect blend of chill and engaging gameplay, helping me disconnect from the day’s hustle before I need to start my night shift. Sometimes, I’ll even browse for new indie games or cozy simulation titles to try out. It's a small luxury that makes a big difference to my mood. Balancing classes, fun shopping trips, errands, and a night job might sound like a lot, but by prioritizing rest, carving out time for hobbies, and allowing myself grace when things don't go exactly to plan (like postponing errands!), I’ve found a rhythm that works for me. What are your tips for balancing a busy schedule with your passions?
