The biggest tip I can give anyone going through the pre med to medical school journey right now is to take it one step at a time. I remember the first day of my freshmen year of college. I wanted to join every club, shadow every doctor, volunteer, and basically do everything all at once. I learned the hard way that you have to find beauty in the journey. My med school acceptance timeline is a culmination of my unique experiences and interests that allowed my medical school application to be authentic to my lived experiences. I didn’t figure out what I truly wanted to do until the second semester of my sophomore year and that is ok. The journey to med school is not a sprint, but rather a marathon. Take your time and find activities that genuinely make you happy and fulfilled.
