4️⃣ Songs for Your Wedding Reception 🎶

I started off a little unconventional but bear with me all of these songs WILL. CAN. and SHALL. WORK!😭

☎️ Even though I have been compiling a list of wedding songs, the songs were most focused on my partner and I.. so I had to really dig deep and find some songs for this series!

I have been compiling a list for years as popular songs go in and out of style & as I stumble upon by accident (movies, shows, traveling & grocery shopping etc…). I plan to share my wedding song playlist every other Wednesday - and maybe ramp it up a little bit once wedding szn is in full swing.

🤔 MY CONSIDERATIONS: Songs that relate to friendship well, songs I can choose to represent the different friendships I have, and something fun or even a lil tear jerker 🥹

1. Artist: Cheetah Girls 🐆

Song: Cheetah Sisters

Who doesn’t love a good cheetahs girls song?! And who has a whole catalog of songs dedicated to the dynamics of friendship? They were an easy add plus you don’t have to worry about having to get a clean version of the song!

it’s giving energy, upbeat and nostalgia ✨

2. Artist: Cheetah Girls 2

Song: Amigas Cheetahs

I HAD to add another of their songs because it was just too good to pass up!! I am a Disney girly so don’t be surprised if you eventually see some HSM soon too 😉

It’s giving crowd pleaser, 💃🏾 🪩 , and fun!

3. Artist: Whitney Houston and Cece Winans

Song: Count on Me

I definitely discovered the song before I ever watched the movie, but this song is SOO good!!

It’s a GREAT song for a bridesmaid who may not want to dance into the reception as the song’s message has enough UMPH to still make her entrance one to remember 🤗

4. Artist: Destiny’s Child

Song: Girl

Now this one will have to take some creativity from the DJ or you might to search for an upbeat version/ alternative version on YouTube as only a little bit of the song speaks well to friendship because the other half is about your friends being their for you when your man has done wrong 😬

And we don’t want that at OUR WEDDING so take this one with a grain of salt.

Music not only entertains guests but also fosters a joyful atmosphere to celebrate love and friendship. Here are a few considerations to take into account while curating your playlist: 1. **Diversity of Genres**: Mix different genres to appeal to all age groups at your wedding. Songs from pop, classic rock, and R&B will have everyone on their feet. 2. **Engaging Lyrics**: Select songs with lyrics that resonate with the theme of friendship and love. Tracks like "Count on Me" and "Amigas Cheetahs" not only encourage dancing but also reflect the bonds between friends and family. 3. **Personal Touch**: Incorporate songs that have meaning to you and your partner, perhaps those from memorable moments in your relationship. These selections can make your wedding feel unique and heartfelt. 4. **Crowd Favorites**: Including popular hits that guests can sing along to will heighten their enjoyment. Tracks known for being crowd pleasers are great for dancing and lifting spirits. 5. **Consider Your Guests**: Think about who will be at your wedding, and choose songs that cater to their preferences.
