Why Coco Jones is the Next Big “Thang”
Honestly.. I had rather low expectations going into this album - but this was, ALMOST, a no skip album for me!!
BUT for a first studio album.. in this music environment??! It’s basically a 10/10 just given that.
The sad thing is.. I don’t think this album got talked about much, despite its accolades 🫤
- Debuted at 59 on Billboard Top 200
- Sold 15k units the first week (most popular rappers you know can do that)
- 5.6 mil Spotify Streams the first week
- The album debuted at number 2 on U.S. Apple Music Albums (R&B Soul)
Not too shabby.. especially for a FIRST ALBUM 🏆

⚖️ REVIEW: This is an R&B album through and through. She, and her team, did a great job of sticking to R&B vibes and playing with different sounds but keeping it R&B - which I LOVED 🥰
There’s a way to play with sounds and different styles but it’s an art. They played it smart, and safe, by sticking to what the album was intended to be.
👀 She was making rounds when the visuals for “Toxic” dropped because it sampled Brittany Spears’ song.
Not my favorite song, but it has growing on me a lil..
Could it have been left off the album? Yeah.
It with the theme of the album, so I’m not super upset by the choice.
👏🏾 AND she dropped a Deluxe 👏🏾
This is a MUST listen to album for any R&B lovers out there.

💭 Is she on the level of Ella Mai, SZA, Summer Walker, Ari Lennox though..?
I personally think so, or at the very least is en route to being on that level, but what say you? ⬇️

I haven’t listened to it yet but inclined to do so based on your review. Kudos to you!!!🥰❤️
