I prefer them to be released week by week and my bf prefers them all at once.
I think we found a middle ground!
🤔 WHY WEEK TO WEEK?
Week to week is better for me so I will have a show to watch for a longer chunk of time. If it all comes out at once, especially if it’s a show I am watching with my bf, we will finish it that week depending on how good the season is.
I also prefer week to week because I like taking my time watching shows.
If they all come out and ppl have watched it already, there tends to be spoilers I have to try and avoid - it’s tough.
❤️A COMBO OF BOTH:
I think this is the first show they we have watched that has done this, but “Squid Games: the Challenge” releases episodes in batches.
04 Nov: Episodes 1-3
11 Nov: Episodes 5-8
18 Nov: Finale
This is a perfect middle ground for the both of us - I prefer this way the most!
😊COMPROMISE:
If the shows do come out all at once we will get through what we can and just stop based on not being interested in it right now, or not having the energy to keep watching OR we have one of us watch and the other person agrees to catch up.

... Read moreWhen it comes to watching TV shows, release schedules can really impact how we enjoy them, especially when watching with a partner. Many people prefer the traditional week-by-week release because it stretches out the excitement, allowing them to savor each episode and discuss theories between weeks. On the other hand, those who prefer binge-watching all episodes at once enjoy the thrill of finishing a whole season in one go without waiting.
A notable hybrid method gaining popularity is batch releasing episodes in groups, as seen with shows like "Squid Game: The Challenge" on Netflix. This approach offers a sweet spot — releasing multiple episodes at once but spacing out batches over weeks. This method can help reduce the risk of spoilers while giving viewers enough content to stay engaged.
Beyond scheduling preferences, watching habits also come into play. Some prefer a slower pace because it fits their lifestyle better or helps avoid spoilers circulating in social media. Meanwhile, others prefer binge sessions to dive deep into the story's momentum.
For couples or friends sharing the viewing experience, these differences can lead to challenges but also opportunities for compromise. Strategies include committing to stopping at a certain episode if released all at once or agreeing that one person can watch ahead with the other catching up later. This flexibility keeps the shared experience enjoyable without pressure.
In summary, no single viewing schedule is perfect for everyone. Trying out week-by-week releases, all-at-once binges, or batch releases can help discover the best fit for your preferences and viewing companions. The key is communication and openness to finding a middle ground that maximizes enjoyment and connection around your favorite shows.
All at once please. I like binging 😂
