Books I’ve Read So Far This Year & Ratings
I used to be a big book lover but they got super expensive and began to take up a lot of space. Once I got my kindle it was game changing for me. I set my reading goal this year for 5 books and have read 9!!! These are the books I’ve read so far this year and I’m dedicated to continue my journey. If you’re looking for some reads I highly recommend Memory Ward by Jon Bassoff and Jeanette McCurdy’s memoir I’m Glad My Mom Died. As an avid reader, switching to a Kindle was a transformative experience for me. It allowed me to access a vast library without the hassle and expense of physical books piling up at home. My reading goal this year was modest—five books—but I’ve already read nine and look forward to more. One standout read for me was 'Memory Ward' by Jon Bassoff, a psychological thriller that kept me hooked from start to finish. I found myself thinking about the characters long after putting it down. It’s a great pick for anyone who enjoys suspenseful and emotionally complex stories. Another deeply impactful book was Jeanette McCurdy’s memoir, 'I’m Glad My Mom Died.' Her honest narration gave me a new perspective on celebrity lives and the challenges they face beyond the spotlight. This memoir is beautifully written and resonated with me emotionally, especially in its portrayal of resilience. Currently, I’m reading 'Never Lie' by Frieda McFadden and am enjoying its unfolding plot. It's still early, but so far, it's a gripping read that blends mystery and personal drama well. I also appreciated other titles like 'The Light We Lost' by Emily Giffin and 'The Three Lives of Cate' by Kay Reese, which offered engaging and heartfelt storytelling, although some parts felt somewhat predictable to me. For fellow readers looking to expand their genres, I recommend exploring psychological thrillers and memoirs as a way to experience new perspectives and emotional depth. My journey reaffirmed that reading can be a powerful way to unwind, reflect, and grow, even amidst a busy lifestyle. What book recommendations do you have? I’m excited to discover more hidden gems and diverse voices in literature!
