The Stars Are Dying... And so was I.
I tried so hard to like this book. I tried the audio book and the physical book, but I just could not do it. I rarely DNF a book. I have probably only given up on a small handful of books, but unfortunately this was one of them.
The goods: the book is gorgeous. Like drop dead gorgeous. And it sounded like such a good premise.
The bads: everything else. The plot was all over the place. The author desperately needed a few more rounds with an editor. At 24 chapters in, I still couldn't tell what the book was supposed to be, and I was fighting to stay interested. The main character was horribly wishy washy to the point that I was sure that if she went through threshing a dragon would scorch her just to stop listening to her indecisiveness (IYKYK).
Honestly, I'm mad that I spent so much time and money trying to make it through this one.
