One thing I learned early on is that patience and precise timing are key to getting the perfect texture. For example, with bagels, the boiling step before baking is critical as it gives them their signature chewy crust. Using high-quality flour and allowing proper fermentation time for the dough really brings out richer flavors in the bread and buns. When I first started, I experimented with different recipes and methods, like varying yeast quantities and trying out different shapes. I found that brushing the bagels with melted butter right after baking enhances the flavor and gives a lovely shine, which is why my hashtag #butteredbagels is so fitting! Making burger buns at home also allowed me to control ingredients, which means no preservatives and fresher taste. Another tip is to let your dough rest adequately between steps; it helps develop the gluten structure, making the dough easier to shape and improving the crumb of your breads. Don’t be afraid to customize your creations too – adding seeds, herbs, or spices can elevate your baking to a new level. Overall, embracing the process with excitement and tweaking recipes along the way has made baking not only a hobby but a delightful journey of flavors and skills.

Fall Baking 🍎🍞
🧡Batter: Mix 1 1/2 cups of flour, 1 1/2 tsp baking powder, & 1/2 tsp salt together. Set aside. Beat together 1/2 cup butter, 1/2 cup sugar, & 2 tsp vanilla extract until smooth. Then beat in 2 eggs. Slowly add in flour mixture & 1/2 cup of milk until well combined. Set aside.
