It’s natural to feel hurt when someone you like doesn’t feel the same, but it’s important not to let those feelings consume your sense of value. Instead, I started setting small personal goals—things like improving my hobbies, being kinder to myself, or expanding my social circle—which gradually helped rebuild my self-esteem. Another key step was accepting that everyone’s preferences are unique, and being liked by someone isn’t a reflection of my overall desirability or happiness. Recognizing this helped me stop comparing myself to the “popular and fit” girls and focus on being my authentic self. It also made me realize that meaningful relationships are built on connection and shared values, not just appearances or trends. If you’re struggling with similar feelings, know that it’s okay to feel disappointed but don’t let it define your life. Engage in activities that bring you joy and surround yourself with supportive friends. Over time, these experiences can help you grow stronger emotionally and become more resilient.
