𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐧𝐞𝐲 𝐒𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐦𝐲 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 🤍✨
Not every “dreamy” travel day goes perfectly and 𝑦𝑒𝑠𝑡𝑒𝑟𝑑𝑎𝑦 𝑝𝑟𝑜𝑣𝑒𝑑 𝑡ℎ𝑎𝑡.
We started at 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐝’𝐬 𝐆𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐞 in Orlando (10/10, absolutely delicious), walked the 𝐕𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐥𝐞𝐭𝐬 for a bit, realized this 31-week pregnant mama needed a break 😅 and headed back to the hotel to reset before round two at Disney Springs.
And then… 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑜𝑢𝑡𝑓𝑖𝑡 𝑚𝑎𝑙𝑓𝑢𝑛𝑐𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛 ℎ𝑎𝑝𝑝𝑒𝑛𝑒𝑑 𝑤ℎ𝑒𝑛 𝑤𝑒 𝑔𝑜𝑡 𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑟𝑒.
Let’s just say searching 𝐀𝐋𝐋 over Disney Springs for toddler pants in cold weather is harder than you think. So what did we do?
𝑊𝑒 𝑖𝑚𝑝𝑟𝑜𝑣𝑖𝑠𝑒𝑑.
Cami ended up wearing my pregnancy compression socks as pants, her new sweatshirt I bought her, and her jean jacket tied around her waist to cover everything up. 𝐖𝐞 𝐚𝐛𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐲 𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐤𝐞𝐝 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬. A whole mess. 😂
But she was warm. She was happy. And we kept going.
It was by far the coldest day I’ve ever experienced at Disney, but we still made it fun. 𝐖𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐝 𝐮𝐩 𝐨𝐧 𝐞𝐧𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐌&𝐌’𝐬 to last us weeks, she picked out the cutest Minnie Mouse that she fell asleep with, and dinner at Paddlefish was so good!
And because no trip is complete without a 𝑙𝑖𝑡𝑡𝑙𝑒 𝑒𝑥𝑡𝑟𝑎 𝑐ℎ𝑎𝑜𝑠… our hotel neighbors decided prank phone calls throughout the night and screaming music first thing in the morning were part of the experience. 🙃
Did it wake us up? Yes.
Was it annoying? Also yes.
Do we still absolutely love the hotel? 100%.
Because even with the cold weather, outfit disasters, and unexpected “entertainment”… 𝐢𝐭 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐬𝐮𝐜𝐡 𝐚 𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭 𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐄𝐯𝐚𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐦𝐲 𝐠𝐢𝐫𝐥.
Cold. Chaotic. A little ridiculous.
𝐵𝑢𝑡 𝑓𝑢𝑙𝑙 𝑜𝑓 𝑚𝑒𝑚𝑜𝑟𝑖𝑒𝑠.
And that’s what we’ll remember. 💛
Visiting Disney Springs in cold weather can definitely test your packing and planning skills, especially with little ones in tow. I recall a similar experience when I took my toddler to Disney Springs during an unusually cold snap. Like the story shared, finding appropriate toddler clothing on short notice was unexpectedly difficult. It’s always a good idea to pack extra layers and be ready to improvise — for us, that meant layering swimsuits with leggings and hoodies because many stores don't stock the smaller sizes in warmer fabrics. Disney Springs truly is a wonderful place to explore family-friendly dining and shopping options. Ford's Garage is a great spot for burgers and casual meals, offering a fun atmosphere perfect for all ages. Paddlefish is another excellent dining choice with a more upscale feel and fresh seafood options. During colder visits, sitting by a fire pit outside can be a nice way to warm up and enjoy the lively Disney Springs vibe. One of the best ways to keep toddlers entertained amidst any unexpected chaos is by letting them pick a small souvenir that comforts them — much like the Minnie Mouse plush mentioned in the article. This little touch can help create sweet travel memories that last beyond the day’s adventures. Finally, while noisy neighbors or prank calls might disrupt a peaceful night's rest, embracing the unpredictable moments can add to the travel story. These experiences, chaotic or calm, often become the most cherished memories when looking back on family vacations. So, pack smart, prepare for spontaneity, and enjoy the magic of Disney Springs no matter the weather or surprises along the way!
