My brother was my 𝐚𝐛𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐞 𝐛𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐝. Someone who I looked up to, the one who showed me how to dream bigger and 𝑎𝑐𝑡𝑢𝑎𝑙𝑙𝑦 go for it.
But everything shifted and my life 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐲 turned upside down when I lost my brother from a car accident.
I was completely lost.
So many years were a blur after I lost him, I felt like all I did was sleep and cry. I had nightmares every night for a whole year.
But I know Jeremy would want me to keep going, to chase the life we used to talk about. 𝐓𝐨 𝐛𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐧 𝐝𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐭 𝐟𝐞𝐥𝐭 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐥𝐞.
This picture displayed here of my parents is at the baseball field I watched my brother play at for years. It’s one of my 𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐦𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬 growing up.
Yesterday our community honored Jeremy’s memory & many other loved ones displayed here. 𝐍𝐨𝐰 𝐡𝐞’𝐥𝐥 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐛𝐞 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰𝐧 𝐚𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐥 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐟𝐢𝐞𝐥𝐝. ⚾️❤️
And somehow, in the middle of all of this, I’m about to bring a 𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 this week.
It’s hard not to think about how he should be here for this. 𝐻𝑜𝑤 ℎ𝑒 𝑤𝑜𝑢𝑙𝑑 ℎ𝑎𝑣𝑒 𝑏𝑒𝑒𝑛 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑚𝑜𝑠𝑡 𝑖𝑛𝑐𝑟𝑒𝑑𝑖𝑏𝑙𝑒 𝑢𝑛𝑐𝑙𝑒.

Losing a loved one, especially someone as close as a brother, is a journey filled with profound sorrow and difficult healing. From my personal experience, the pain feels overwhelming at first, often making everyday life seem impossible. I remember the early days after my brother's passing were the hardest, with sleepless nights and haunting nightmares making the grief feel endless. One of the most meaningful ways to cope was holding onto the memories we shared. For me, the baseball field where he played wasn’t just a place — it was a sanctuary filled with laughter, dreams, and bonding moments. Visiting that field or looking at pictures of my parents there helped keep his spirit alive and reminded me that he’s part of everything I do. Communities coming together to honor those we’ve lost provides immense comfort. The tribute honoring Jeremy and other loved ones not only celebrates their legacy but also offers a space for collective healing. The phrase “legends never die” truly resonates when we see the impact of their lives reflected in our memories and ongoing stories. Facing major life changes, like preparing to welcome a new baby, brought a mix of grief and hope. While I deeply miss having my brother here to share this joy, I find solace in imagining him as a guardian angel watching over this new chapter. This belief adds strength on difficult days and transforms pain into motivation to pursue the dreams we once talked about. Through my grief journey, I’ve learned the importance of allowing yourself to feel the hurt but also embracing the ways your loved ones inspire you to keep moving forward. Remembering them as angels or heroes not only honors their memory but also empowers us to live fully and bravely, carrying their love with us in everything we do.
