She made her arrival on Tuesday, April 14th at 12:46pm, a little past her due date. She came in at 9 lbs 4 oz and 21.5 inches long!
Our sweet girl spent a couple of days in the NICU, which was one of the hardest things we’ve ever walked through but she is HOME now and doing amazing!!
Her name means so much to us. Cayleigh’s middle name, Allyn, is in honor of my brother, his middle name was Allen. I felt him with her every step of the way, especially during delivery. There’s no doubt in my mind he was watching over her. 🤍
She already loves her cuddles and just wants to be held all day and I’m soaking up every second of it!
Camilla has been incredible with her! She kisses her, helps get her binkies & toys and cuddles with her. She already said Cayleigh is her best friend! 🥹
Our hearts feel so full. We’re home, we’re together, and we’re just taking in every single moment with our girls 🤍

... Read moreBringing a newborn home, especially after a NICU stay, is a profound experience filled with emotional highs and challenges. When my friend shared her story about Cayleigh Allyn Potpinka’s arrival, it reminded me of how precious and fragile early days can be. Babies like Cayleigh, born just a little past their due date and weighing over 9 pounds, often face initial health hurdles that require specialized care. The NICU journey can be tough for families — the uncertainty, the hours spent by her side, and hoping for every little sign of improvement. Yet, seeing her finally come home and thrive is a powerful testament to resilience.
What really touched me was the deep significance of Cayleigh’s middle name, Allyn, honoring a family member, which shows how newborns can be a bridge connecting generations. It’s beautiful how the family feels a continued presence of their loved one during delivery, offering comfort and strength. Also, the sibling bond growing between Cayleigh and Camilla is truly heartwarming. Having an older sibling eager to help and love the baby can make a huge difference in a newborn’s life, fostering early attachments and a sense of security.
For anyone going through a similar experience, I’ve learned that soaking up those early moments of cuddles and bonding is invaluable. It’s not just about the baby’s health, but also the emotional threads that knit a family tightly together. Every tiny smile, each binky handed over by a helpful sibling, builds a foundation of love that supports the baby’s growth and the parents’ well-being. If you are welcoming a baby home after a NICU stay, don’t hesitate to accept help and cherish those close family connections — they are irreplaceable during this delicate time.
Finally, sharing your story, like this one, has the power to inspire and provide comfort to others facing similar journeys. Baby Cayleigh’s arrival not only brings joy to her family but also offers hope and encouragement to many parents worldwide navigating the complexities of newborn care.
She's so pretty, first glance I thought she was 1 of those reborn dolls
