Fruits you should be eating on your Period 🍓🫐

Every month is different but I try to make sure I keep my berry intake consistent.

Eating berries during your menstrual cycle can help ease cramps and reduce bloating.

Packed with antioxidants and vitamins, they support overall wellness and provide a tasty, nutritious boost.

Try mixing together Strawberries, Raspberries, Blueberries & Blackberries, squeeze some lime juice over it and drizzle it with some honey 🤤 This is one of my favorite period snacks.

What are some must have snacks you need around that time of the month??

... Read moreI totally get it – that time of the month can bring on some serious discomfort, from nagging cramps to feeling bloated and just plain tired. Over the years, I've learned that what I put into my body makes a huge difference, and discovering the power of certain fruits has been a game-changer for me. While my berry mix is a staple, I've found even more ways to embrace fruity goodness to make my period days a little more bearable. Beyond just their delicious taste, berries like strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries are truly nutritional powerhouses when you're on your period. I've personally noticed how the antioxidants in strawberries help reduce that uncomfortable inflammation that often accompanies cramps, plus their natural sweetness is perfect for satisfying those cravings in a healthier way. Blueberries, for instance, aren't just tasty; they're packed with Vitamin C and manganese, which are great for overall well-being and can truly contribute to a more comfortable and balanced menstrual cycle. Raspberries and blackberries add a fantastic fiber boost, which helps keep things moving and can further reduce bloating. But my period fruit journey doesn't stop at berries! I’ve also found other fruits to be incredibly helpful. For instance, bananas are a lifesaver for me because they're loaded with potassium, an electrolyte that can help combat water retention and muscle cramps. I also love snacking on green apple slices – as seen in one of my favorite healthy images! They're not only refreshing but also high in fiber, aiding digestion and helping to keep bloating at bay. Another fantastic option I've incorporated is pineapple. It contains bromelain, an enzyme that's believed to have anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving properties, which is a big win during my cycle. And let's not forget about avocados! While technically a fruit, their healthy fats and magnesium content are amazing for hormonal balance and easing muscle tension. Incorporating these 'best food for period cramps' into my diet is easier than you might think. Beyond my go-to berry mix with lime and honey, I often toss a handful of blueberries and raspberries into my morning oatmeal or yogurt. A smoothie with banana, spinach, and a mix of berries is another one of my favorite ways to get a nutrient-dense boost. For a quick snack, I'll grab a banana or those crisp green apple slices. Sometimes, I even add pineapple chunks to a light salad for a sweet and tangy twist. Staying hydrated is also key, and munching on water-rich fruits like strawberries helps with that, too, making me feel less sluggish and more energetic. It's all about listening to your body and finding what works for you, but I truly believe that embracing these wonderful fruits can significantly ease menstrual symptoms and support your overall well-being. What are your secret fruit weapons for that time of the month? I’m always looking for new ideas to share!
