Decorated Sugar Cookies

Hey everyone! I just had to share how much fun I had making these adorable ocean animal sugar cookies. A bright red icing for the body, and then after drying, carefully attaching those tiny edible googly eyes really brought them to life and gave them so much personality. For the dark blue whales, I started with a deep blue flood icing and then added white and light blue bellies using the wet-on-wet technique for a smooth blend. It made them look like they were gracefully swimming in the ocean. A tip I learned is patience! Let your flood icing dry completely before adding intricate details or stacking them – this prevents smudges. It usually takes several hours, or even overnight, depending on humidity. Don't be afraid to experiment with different piping tips for varied line work and details. Overall, this project was so rewarding.
