🍛 Thai Food in New York|SriPraPhai

New York’s Thai food scene is insanely competitive — there are so many good ones. But when it comes to Queens/Woodside, SriPraPhai definitely stands out as one of the top contenders.

The online reviews are unanimous: authentic flavors, generous portions, and great value for money. So of course, I had to check it out myself! ☑️

🏠 Atmosphere

The interior is what you’d expect from a classic Thai restaurant — simple, clean, bright, and relaxed. I went during an off-peak hour, so luckily there was no wait.

💰 Average spend: $20–30 per person (Google) (For example, Pad Thai is around $15–17)

💳 The menu lists two prices — cash and credit card (about 3% off if you pay cash).

📌 Location

SriPraPhai: 64-13 39th Ave, Woodside, NY 11377

Take the 🚇 7 train to 69 St, then walk 🚶 about 5 minutes.

🥗 Papaya Salad

You can smell the freshness of the shredded green papaya the moment it arrives. It’s crisp, freshly cut, and mixed with the classic Thai spicy-sour dressing.

The flavor hits all the notes — sour, spicy, and a little sweet — with dried shrimp, crushed peanuts, and even raw long beans (yes, totally safe to eat!).

Don’t be fooled by the look — it’s spicier than it seems, I was literally tearing up 😂 but chili lovers will adore it!

🍤 Pad Thai

A must-order for any Thai meal, and also one of the restaurant’s most popular dishes.

The shrimp are bouncy and fresh, and it comes with 🍋 lime wedges and 🥜 crushed peanuts — you have to add both!

The flavor leans sweet, balanced with a tangy, savory edge — the authentic Thai street-food vibe.

A bit guilty on the sugar, but honestly? Still delicious!

🧾 Summary

SriPraPhai delivers exactly what good Thai food should: authentic, consistent, and satisfying.

Not the kind of place that will blow your mind, but it’s solid and dependable — the perfect everyday go-to if you live nearby.

If you’re coming from far away just to try it, I might hesitate a bit — but you’ll still leave happy.

✨ In short: Authentic flavors, generous portions, wallet-friendly prices — one of New York’s most reliable Thai restaurants!

... Read moreWhen it comes to authentic Thai cuisine in New York, SriPraPhai stands out not just for its flavors but also for the genuine cultural experience it offers. Located conveniently at 64-13 39th Ave in Woodside, Queens, it provides an accessible destination for both locals and visitors seeking a taste of Thailand. One of the highlights of dining at SriPraPhai is the freshness and balance of its dishes, such as the vibrant papaya salad. This salad combines crisp shredded green papaya with a bold spicy-sour dressing that features dried shrimp, crushed peanuts, and raw long beans. This combination ensures a complex flavor profile that hits the perfect harmony of sour, spicy, and sweet notes. But be warned, the papaya salad packs quite a spicy punch, especially for those sensitive to chili heat, making it a favorite among spice lovers who appreciate authentic Thai zest. Besides the salad, no Thai meal at SriPraPhai would be complete without the Pad Thai. This dish shines with its fresh shrimp and vibrant garnishes, including zesty lime wedges and crunchy peanuts. The Pad Thai's flavor profile is slightly sweet, tangy, and savory, reflecting the classic street-food vibe that defines much of Thailand’s casual dining. While it might be a tad sweet for some, this balance creates a satisfying flavor that makes it a popular choice among regulars. The atmosphere at SriPraPhai mirrors its culinary authenticity: simple, clean, and relaxing, giving patrons a comfortable space to enjoy their meal.
