Colorful Guizhou Airlines, where did my noodles?
Before booking my flight with Colorful Guizhou Airlines, I saw so many posts on the social media praising their in-flight meals.
“Colorful Guizhou’s airplane food is insanely good!”
People were posting photos of guailu rice, fried rice, Guizhou-style rice noodles, even potato cakes…
Every picture looked very tempting. Honestly, it really got my hopes up.
So when I booked this flight, I was genuinely excited.
—
And then?
It was an evening flight, and the ticket did say “snack provided.”
Still, I couldn’t help but imagine — maybe there’d be a mini version of some Guizhou specialty.
After takeoff, the flight attendant slowly rolled the cart down the aisle.
I was already picturing a steaming hot potato cake in my hands.
And then—
What I received was a small pack of salted crackers.
Plus a bottle of water.
And a wet wipe.
That’s it.
Very… minimal.
In that moment, I had only one thought:
Where’s my preserved vegetable crispy pork rice?
Where’s my beef rice noodles?
Where’s my guailu rice?
—
I understand that meal service depends on the flight time.
But the gap between the “Guizhou specialty feast” I saw on social media and the “minimal snack pack” in reality… felt a little dramatic.
What made it worse? I actually checked the nutrition label.
➤Sodium: 24% of daily value.
➤Labeled low sugar, but not particularly high in fiber.
➤And this tiny pack contains 2010 kilojoules of energy.
For someone who works out and watches their diet, this is basically:
You can look at it.
But you probably shouldn’t eat it.
A true little calorie bomb.
—
I didn’t get to taste the Guizhou flavors I was hoping for this time.
A bit disappointing, honestly.
But I still want to believe maybe it was just the wrong flight timing.
Next time I fly with them, I hope I’ll finally get to try that legendary preserved vegetable crispy pork rice.
If you’ve flown with Colorful Guizhou Airlines—
Did you get authentic Guizhou rice noodles?
Or the same pack of crackers as me?
Let me know in the comments.
Because I’m still wondering—
Did my Guizhou rice noodles ever actually exist?⁉️
