Kyrgyzstan 🇰🇬 Itinerary!

Part 2 - only posting day 3 Kyrgyzstan since there are way too many nice photos to share.

Day 3 (Kyrgyzstan):

- Holy Trinity Church in the town of Karakol

- Jety-Oguz Mountains

> Seven Bulls Rock, Broken Heart Rock

- Issyk-Kul Lake

(means warm lake in Kygryzstan but it was so cold🥶!)

Stopped by a supermarket to enjoy some Pilaf, Laghman and Manti!

- Barskoon Waterfalls

> small trek up to enjoy the waterfall on the mountains

> frozen waterfall that we wore anti-slip ice cleats on. Almost impossible to step foot on the frozen waterfall without them

- Skazka Canyon (Fairytale canyon)

> highly recommend taking some time to take in the breathtaking natural landscape

> the views were fantastic but the terrain wasn’t easy to trek on

- Nest House с. Тон, Kyrgyzstan

> village of Ton (breakfast & dinner included)

At Nest house, we enjoyed sweet porridge with the central Asian “youtiao”, which was amazingly good. Highly recommend this accommodation since it was 2-stories high, had a smart TV (Netflix) and pull-up bars/playground.

... Read moreOn my third day exploring Kyrgyzstan, I immersed myself deeply in the diverse natural and cultural wonders the region offers. Starting off at the Holy Trinity Church in Karakol, I admired the unique architecture and peaceful atmosphere, a great way to connect with Kyrgyzstan’s spiritual heritage. The Jety-Oguz Mountains were undoubtedly one of the highlights, especially visiting the Seven Bulls Rock and Broken Heart Rock formations. The vivid red sandstone cliffs rose dramatically against the sky, making for some incredible photos and a peaceful trek. These formations, steeped in local legend, add a mystical touch to the landscape. Next up was Issyk-Kul Lake, known as the 'warm lake', though I found the waters surprisingly cold! Despite the chill, the expansive turquoise view was breathtaking and offered a true sense of the vastness and beauty of the region. Fueling up, I sampled local supermarket delights like Pilaf, Laghman, and Manti. This simple yet flavorful meal really gave me a taste of Central Asian comfort food. The trek to Barskoon Waterfalls was adventurous, especially because part of the waterfall was frozen and required anti-slip ice cleats to safely explore. The crisp mountain air and the sound of cascading water made the effort worthwhile. Later, I visited Skazka Canyon, or Fairytale Canyon, where the surreal, sculpted rock formations gave an otherworldly feeling. The trek was challenging due to the terrain, but pausing to take in the panoramic views was truly magical. My stay at Nest House in the village of Ton was another memorable experience. The accommodation was charming, two-stories with modern touches like a smart TV. Breakfast featured sweet porridge and Central Asian “youtiao,” a delightful twist reminiscent of doughnuts. The village setting offered a peaceful retreat after a day full of exploring. Overall, Day 3 in Kyrgyzstan provided an enriching blend of nature, culture, and authentic local flavors. For anyone planning a visit, wearing proper trekking shoes and layering for cold weather—especially around Issyk-Kul and the mountains—is essential. This itinerary balances breathtaking landscapes with cultural immersion, making it a perfect day to remember.
