craving thai food after playing volleyball in prospect park🌳 and found this super cute thai hidden gem that also doubles as an asian icecream parlour. 🍦🍨

@skyice_nyc is such a hidden gem! It is an asian inspired icecream parlour + thai restaurant. It is super homey and serves up flavorful and comforting dishes. lovee their seasoning + sauces- sooo flavorful 🌶️ My personal favorites were the slow cooked beef Panang, their green curry and the pad kee mao.

the ice cream was SO GOOD. highly recommend their ube!

I feel like the spots that don’t skimp on the spice and seasoning are the most authentic.

SkyIce Thai Food & Ice Cream

... Read moreYou know those rare finds that just blow you away? I recently stumbled upon SkyIce NYC in Park Slope, and it's truly a hidden gem that I can't stop thinking about! What makes it so special is its incredible dual identity: a cozy, authentic Thai restaurant and an Asian-inspired ice cream parlor. It’s the perfect place whether you’re craving a hearty meal or a unique sweet treat. I was looking for a new spot after volleyball in Prospect Park, and this place absolutely delivered! Let's talk about the Thai food first. If you're searching for genuine, flavorful Thai dishes, this is your spot. I've tried so many places, but SkyIce really nails the balance of spices and rich flavors. Their Slow Cooked Beef Panang is an absolute must-try – the beef is incredibly tender, melting in your mouth with that signature creamy, slightly spicy Panang sauce. It’s comfort food elevated! And for those who love a good noodle dish, their Pad Kee Mao is wonderfully satisfying, packed with fresh ingredients and just the right amount of kick. It’s far from your average takeout; you can taste the authenticity in every bite, something I truly appreciate when looking for Thai food that stands out. They really don't skimp on the seasoning, making each dish a vibrant experience. The green curry is another standout, with a depth of flavor that's hard to find elsewhere. But the real showstopper for me, and definitely a reason to visit, is their unique ice cream selection. Forget your usual vanilla and chocolate – SkyIce is a haven for unique ice cream flavors. Their Ube ice cream is legendary, a beautiful purple hue with a subtly sweet, earthy taste that's just divine. It's truly an experience in itself! If you’re feeling adventurous, I highly recommend getting the SkyIce Sampler. It’s a flight of ice cream that lets you try several flavors like Ube, Lychee Rose, Mango, and Passionfruit. It’s such a fun way to explore the different Asian-inspired creations they offer, and it’s truly unlike anything else you’ll find. It perfectly complements their savory dishes or makes for a delightful dessert on its own, especially if you're looking for something beyond typical Western desserts, leaning towards the incredible world of Thai and Asian sweets. For anyone looking for 'ice cream near me' in Brooklyn, this isn't just ice cream; it's an exploration of flavors! The atmosphere at SkyIce is also part of its charm. It feels incredibly homey and welcoming, a perfect spot to unwind after a day exploring Prospect Park. It’s the kind of neighborhood spot that makes you feel like you’ve discovered a secret, a true hidden gem. The staff are always friendly, adding to the overall positive vibe. If you're in Park Slope, near the Atlantic Barclays area, or even just passing through NYC, you absolutely have to add SkyIce to your list. It’s fantastic for a casual dinner, a special dessert, or simply to satisfy that craving for authentic Thai dishes and extraordinary ice cream. Trust me, your taste buds will thank you for finding this hidden gem!
