Jersey silkies

It’s hatch day at Jersey silkies! These little ones are starting their journey strong. They’ll be getting their Marek’s vaccine today to protect against the deadly Marek’s disease, which affects the nervous system and can cause paralysis. At two weeks old, they’ll receive the MG vaccine to help prevent Mycoplasma gallisepticum, a respiratory disease that can spread easily in flocks. These vaccines are not a cure. Healthy chicks make for happy chickens. 🌱🐣🕊️
