Bridges Not Destinations
Learning to be okay with people just passing through. They helped me get here and that’s enough. 🤎🕊️
I've found that understanding the role of people in our lives as temporary yet meaningful connections has truly changed how I appreciate and manage relationships. Sometimes, we meet individuals who appear in our lives just for a season—helping us overcome challenges or transition from one phase to another. These people are like 'bridges,' supporting us to cross tough times but not necessarily meant to be permanent parts of our story. Recognizing this can be freeing. It’s okay to feel gratitude for what they’ve contributed without forcing a prolonged connection that no longer serves either party. Accepting that some relationships are transient helps to reduce emotional burdens and promotes healthier boundaries. In my experience, honoring these temporary relationships means carrying forward the lessons and growth they facilitated, rather than clinging to the relationship itself. It’s a practice of mindful appreciation and release. This mindset shift encourages personal growth and opens doors to new experiences and connections better aligned with where we are in life now. The phrase "bridges, not destinations" resonates deeply because it reminds us that life is a journey filled with evolving companionships. Embracing this perspective allows us to cherish each connection for its purpose and timing, fostering emotional resilience and peace. Ultimately, learning to be okay with people just passing through enriches our ability to live fully and authentically.
