Hatching eggs.
Unpopular Opinion return to sender & Customer Service Part 1 🛑
Let’s talk about something that gets swept under the rug way too often in the poultry community, customer service, transparency, and business ethics. Before the comments section goes wild, let’s keep it cute, keep it respectful, and actually look at the facts. Don't be an "Ashley" and run back to your own page to piggyback/flip this into negativity just for cheap likes and clicks we are here to learn and level up how we do business. Some people are just not too kosher.
These are the kinds of forbidden topics people don't want you to talk about, it’s taboo and that is exactly why I am always ruffling feathers. The truth is, if you are running a business, customers absolutely should have the right to return items if they are not satisfied, especially when they don't get what they paid for.
This is part one of a situation that perfectly highlights why we need higher standards. A listing was explicitly purchased for 18 Buff and White truffles (🥚) Instead, what arrived was completely wrong. Only four Buff and nine black truffles (🥚) and a shorted total count. When a seller makes a mistake like this, the financial burden of correcting it should never fall on the buyer, yet this seller refused to pay the $35 for return shipping. Instead, the response was to crack the truffles, send a video proving they were destroyed, and only then would a next set of eggs be sent, because "you cannot have extra 🥚/🐣
Let’s educate for a second on why this is such bad business practice. There are laws, rules, and ethics that I live by, and intentionally cracking potentially viable hatching eggs is definitely not one of them. We have to respect the life in these shells and expect professionalism from those selling them. When a transaction goes this sideways, you are usually left with two choices, take what you get and shut up, or return to sender. I chose to stand my ground. What would you do in this situation? Have you ever been asked to do something wild by a seller just to get a replacement? It was a return to sender for me and the shipping cost was my good deed for that day. It was a total refund for me. If the puzzles are not fitting perfectly, it’s a sign to walk away it’s not meant to be. 🥚🐣 📦
