day 3 of doing
it’s easy to give in to my ruminations and let those thoughts guide my responses.
how did i act in favor of future jes?
- calling out the rumination, “hey, i’m focusing a lot of my brain energy on this.”
- asking myself some prompts
-> “what is the actual problem?”
- > “why did i allow that if i was not okay with it?”
- > “do i need to address it or let it go?”
- deep breaths to exhale the alerting emotions
- focusing on my sensory experience
- ask if the actual problem is still there:
if yes: have a convo with person or express it somehow.
if no: thank my younger self and move on to something i find joy in.

In today's fast-paced world, many individuals struggle with ruminating thoughts, which can lead to stress and anxiety. Practicing mindfulness techniques can significantly improve mental clarity and emotional well-being. Mindfulness involves being present and fully engaging with the current moment, which helps in recognizing and managing negative thoughts. Techniques such as deep breathing can facilitate emotional release and provide an anchor during moments of overwhelming feelings. Reflecting on questions like, 'What is the actual problem?' encourages proactive responses rather than reactive tendencies. Such self-inquiry allows you to assess whether a situation warrants communication or if it's better to let things go. Engaging in sensory experiences also enhances the mindfulness practice, allowing an individual to reconnect with their surroundings and emotions. Incorporating these practices into your daily routine can lead to increased emotional resilience, allowing you to navigate life's challenges with greater ease. Explore mindfulness further and consider integrating affirmation and gratitude practices to enrich your emotional health and enhance your overall quality of life.
