Last Mondays run!! #runnersoflemon8 #momswhorun #fyp
It was a typical Monday morning, and honestly, the thought of lacing up my sneakers wasn't the most appealing way to "kickstart" the week. But as many of you "runners of Lemon8" know, sometimes you just have to go for it. My plan was simple: just a quick two or three miles to get my blood flowing before the kids were fully settled at school. I started out feeling pretty good, enjoying the quiet morning. One mile in, I was still feeling strong, my pace steady. But as I approached the second mile, that familiar feeling of "getting tired" started to creep in. My mind began to bargain, suggesting it would be fine to "quit one mile short" of my unofficial three-mile goal. That's when I had to have a little internal pep talk. "I can do anything for 10 minutes," I told myself, just focusing on that next small chunk of time. Pushing through that moment of doubt is where the magic happens. Before I knew it, I had "hit three miles"! And you know what? Instead of feeling completely drained, I felt a surge of accomplishment. It was that feeling that made me think, "Why not 'go for four'?" So, I did. I decided to "push for a fourth mile." And by the time I was done, I ended up "doing four total miles" at a 10:55 pace. I was super happy with that, especially since I'd only really planned on doing two! It truly felt like I had conquered a personal "mountain" of fatigue and self-doubt. This experience really solidified for me the "benefits" of not just running, but of being part of a "fit fam run community." Even when I'm running solo, knowing that there are so many other "moms who run" out there, pushing their own limits, provides such powerful motivation. It's like a silent "testimonial" to the power of perseverance. We might not be training for an "Olympic running start," but every single run is a start to something – a better day, a stronger mindset, a healthier me. What I've learned is that every run, even a casual Monday morning one, can be treated like a mini "race day" for yourself. It's about setting a personal goal, pushing past comfort zones, and celebrating those small victories. That feeling of accomplishment after going beyond what you thought you could do? It’s addictive! It helps "kickstart" not just your body, but your entire mindset for the rest of the day and week. So, if you're looking to "wake up early" and embrace a routine that offers both physical and mental rewards, I highly recommend finding your own rhythm. Whether it’s two miles or four, the act of showing up for yourself and pushing through is what truly matters. "Come run with me" – metaphorically, of course – and let's share our running journeys and motivate each other to conquer our own "mountains." How do you "kickstart" your week, and what's the furthest you've pushed yourself on a run you didn't plan for?
