My transparent wellness journey! Fitness Ed pt. 2
I have completed my first week of my transparent wellness journey fitness edition and this part two will break down how the week went and show my routine for the future weeks to come.
Monday(pic from workout in first fitness edition): to start off the week light and airy to get myself in the mood for working out, I decided to do one of my favorite workouts being a dance party on YouTube led by Grow with Jo. She is one of my favorite trainers on YouTube! I think the exercises that she uses in her videos are possible for anyone to do them and it may not seem like much until you’re dripping sweat
by the end of the workout! She also gives you a five second heads up on what exercise is next, which gives you time to prepare how to execute it properly!
Tuesday: We went for a 3 1/2 mile walk as a family and then later that night I completed somatic yoga to decrease from any stress from the day or weekend or last week that my body was holding on to. Tuesdays are usually my most stressful day for some reason so that is why I felt it was important to incorporate yoga on this day.
Wednesday: rest day! Originally this was not set to be my rest day however I really just wasn’t feeling it and that’s OK! I promised myself that I would work out at least three times a week so I knew there was more potential for later on. Also is it ever a rest day with a toddler LMAO.
Thursday: I knew I was having carpal tunnel surgery the next day so I forced myself to work out, however I wanted to keep it positive even though I didn’t feel like doing it. So when I saw something on YouTube called Happy HIIT, I felt like that was the one for me and I actually really enjoyed it! I thought the exercises were very simple like Grow with Jo and I felt it was possible for anyone to do while still dripping with sweat at the end.
Friday: I had carpal tunnel surgery so I figured it was best to rest that day and pick back up tomorrow.
Saturday: I wanted to end my week on a fun note, however still keep the momentum going. I found that Grow with Jo did a crossover between her dance workouts and HIIT workout. At the end of it, I was kind of over working out for the week, however still wanted to push myself so I did a quick standing abs workout as well.
Sunday: Rest day but I wanted to give my body the stretching that it needed so I found this one by Audrey Koomar who does workouts to Taylor Swift songs! She also gives you time to prepare for the next exercise by showing it in a five second clip ahead of time! If you are a swiftie will definitely like her! I also did a wall stretch to help with any inflammation that I had throughout the week and will be incorporating this if not every day, every other day, at the end of the day as part of my journey. Lastly, the weather was nice so we decided to go for a leisurely family walk!
And that completes week one! #onedayatatime #embracevulnerability #unfiltered #myfitnessjourney #wellness #selfcare #selflove #movement #exercise #nogymworkout
Embarking on a wellness journey can be both rewarding and challenging. It's essential to find exercises that resonate with you and fit your lifestyle. Whether you prefer energetic dance workouts or calming yoga sessions, exploring diverse routines keeps your regimen interesting. Incorporating sufficient rest days is also vital for recovery, especially after intense workouts or surgery, such as carpal tunnel surgery. Listening to your body’s needs during this time can greatly enhance your overall progress and prevent burnout. One popular trend is the integration of music into workouts, such as using songs from artists like Taylor Swift to boost motivation during stretching or cool-down routines. Community-driven platforms on YouTube, like Grow with Jo, offer a wealth of tutorials catering to various fitness levels, ensuring that anyone can participate and enjoy the benefits of exercise. Additionally, family walks are a fantastic way to remain active while bonding with loved ones. Finding a supportive community can help reinforce your commitment to fitness, making it more enjoyable and sustainable in the long run. As you refine your wellness journey, remember that consistency is key. Small, achievable goals can lead to significant changes over time. Documenting your progress, as seen in transparent journeys, can also provide motivation and insights into what works best for you.
