MTWJ - Rare self care day!

I say rare because I never get this much time alone and the day to myself! Typically I work Monday-Friday as an LPN in the clinics and a mom to a almost 3 year old toddler. I have been off of work for about a month due to having bilateral carpal tunnel surgery and I have been trying to navigate improving self-care while I am off so that I can implement it into my routine when I go back to work. So if you want to swipe to see it what my entire self-care morning looked like!

I started off my morning drinking water, taking a multivitamin/lemme chill vitamin and medication.

Multivitamin - I’m using the Flintstone gummy‘s because I give it to my child and it actually makes sense when I buy it at target and they have the deal where you can get a five dollar gift card when you buy two so that’s what I did. I figured if it’s good for him it’s good for me.

Lemme Chill - now that I have a toddler life is very chaotic especially with my very stressful job so I figured why not turn to Kourtney Kardashian‘s lemme chill vitamin to see if it works and I’m not sure if it’s the vitamin or just because I’m off work but I do feel pretty chill for most of the time.

Medication - I suffer from anxiety and depression and binge eating disorder so because of that I needed medication to get myself right therefore I am taking Fluoxetine, Vyvanse, and Rexulti. This combination has helped me significantly and I fully believe in the power of medication.

During this summer my mother watches my toddler so I got him all ready and out the door it was a pretty rainy day so when I got home I stayed inside for the most part!

Once I got home I got all the ingredients together to make some homemade bread. Shout out to my bread maker for doing all the hard work while I just put the ingredients in.

After starting the bread maker I decided to have some breakfast homemade bagel sandwich with venison bacon and a hazelnut mocha. Well digesting I did scroll on social media for about 10 minutes before moving onto the next thing.

It was in time to get a workout on, and it was HIIT Wednesday. Because it was raining I wanted it to be a little bit more cozy so I let a few candles and got to work!

After 40 minutes of working out I am then needed to shower so I put my facial cleanser on hopped in the shower and use this Kitsch shampoo bar which I absolutely love along with the conditioner. I then completed the rest of my skin care routine: cleanser (in the shower), toner, serum, moisturizer. I also fully believe in the quote that you need to look good to feel good so I got dressed and put some make up on.

Not pictured I ended my day having a smoothie for lunch with some chips and salsa, got ingredients prepped for dinner, relaxed with the pups on the couch.

Post-workout, my skincare routine played a pivotal role in enhancing my mood, incorporating cleanser, toner, serum, and moisturizer to revitalize my skin. I believe that taking care of our appearance can improve our mental well-being, and dressing up made me feel empowered. I've realized that making homemade meals contributes greatly to my self-care. On this day, I prepared homemade bread and enjoyed a healthy bagel sandwich for breakfast. I also allowed myself some downtime, appreciating the cozy atmosphere indoors during a rainy day. Forming these self-care rituals not only improves overall well-being but helps in managing anxiety and stress effectively. Prioritizing self-care is essential for a balanced lifestyle, especially for those of us balancing work and family responsibilities.
