My fav junk journal spreads so far!

I started my first junk journal at the beginning of the year and here are my favorite pages thus far 🥰 I love doing a combo of junk journaling and bullet journaling and scrapbooking depending on the day. It’s been such a fun hobby. I also love getting inspo from so many amazing journal creators!

... Read moreYou know, sometimes the best journaling inspiration comes from the most unexpected places – like a simple receipt! When I started my junk journal journey earlier this year, I quickly realized that everyday ephemera could transform a page into a vibrant memory capsule. It’s not just about pretty stickers and washi tape; it’s about capturing moments, big or small. One of my absolute favorite spreads, and one that always sparks conversation, is my Dunkin' themed page. It all started with a simple Dunkin' receipt from a morning coffee run. Instead of tossing it, I thought, 'Why not make this a memory?' The idea blossomed into a 'THE WAIT IS OVER' spread, celebrating a sweet moment. I layered the receipt with photos of a happy couple enjoying donuts, added some charming pink and heart-shaped decorative elements, and even included the hand-lettered text, 'EVERYONE DESERVES LOVE.' It’s amazing how a little piece of paper can bring back all the joy and warmth of that specific memory. It's a reminder that even the simplest outings can be journal-worthy! This approach really opened up my eyes to the potential of incorporating everyday items into my spreads. Think about it – those concert tickets you keep, old brand tags from a favorite shopping spree like my 'kate spade NEW YORK' or 'Abercrombie & Fitch' tags, or even packaging from a 'poppi' drink or 'Buldak ramen'! These aren't just trash; they're tangible pieces of your life. For instance, I created a whole 'ATLANTA' themed spread using a city skyline doodle, a 'MAKIMONO Japanese Korean Cuisine' takeout menu piece, and even a color palette inspired by the city itself. It’s all about telling your story. I love adding things like dried flowers, music sheet paper, or even cutting out interesting patterns like the leopard print you see in some of my spreads. Don't be afraid to mix and match! My 'MY IDOLS' spread for Miley Cyrus, Billie Eilish, and Chappell Roan incorporates polaroids, drawings, and even an 8-ball sticker – it's a true collage of my passions. Similarly, for my 'GLOW RECIPE' skincare page, I blended product images with fruit, flowers, and even a book cover to capture that dewy skin vibe. Here are a few quick tips if you're looking to turn your everyday finds into journal treasures: Collect Everything: Keep a small pouch for receipts, tags, flyers, or anything that catches your eye. You never know when it'll inspire a spread. Think Thematically: Group items to tell a story or capture a mood. My 'HAPPY NEW YEAR 2025' spread, for example, brought together cherries, a butterfly, a map, and playing cards to symbolize new beginnings and adventures. Don't Be Afraid to Cut & Layer: Use gluesticks or washi tape to secure items. Overlap them, tear them, add doodles, stickers (like those cute mushrooms or stars!), and handwritten notes around them. Reflect & Write: The 'journal' in junk journal is key! Write down the memories, feelings, or thoughts associated with the items. That's where the real magic happens. So next time you're out and about, maybe grabbing a coffee and donut from Dunkin', remember that little receipt could be the start of your next beautiful journal spread. Happy journaling!
