Elohim - God, Mighty Creator🦋
One of the most important things you need to do on your journey to wholeness is to know who your Father is, especially if you have had any pain, abandonment, or abuse from your earthly father/ father figure. It has honestly been one of the hardest parts to trust that my father loves me unconditionally and will never forsake me no matter what I was trained for.
Being mishandled as a child of God was never on the part of our heavenly father but the human ones with free will that ended up hurting us so badly. I'm starting this journey by learning 26 of God's names and how they apply to me personally as Father, Friend, and Judge.
This week is learning about Elohim - God, Mighty Creator.
As a creative in my own way, I am thankful that God created me in His image, and everything was done in order and purpose. The study highlighted Genesis 1:1 as the key scripture but for me, the key scripture that highlighted is Isiah 40:28: Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, The Lord, The Creator of the ends of the earth, neither faints nor is weary.
If God created me in his image...and he doesn't faint or become weary...why do I walk in fear and anxiety as if the world is my God? #elohim #biblestudy #namesofGod
Continuing on my journey of understanding who God truly is, delving deeper into the name Elohim has been incredibly revealing. It’s more than just a general term for 'God'; it’s a powerful, plural name that signifies His supreme authority, majestic power, and His role as the ultimate Mighty Creator. When I first started this Names of God Study, I thought I knew what 'God the Creator' meant, but the depth of it is truly profound. Thinking about Genesis 1:1, 'In the beginning, Elohim created the heavens and the earth,' paints a picture of a God who speaks things into existence with absolute power and intention. This isn't just a historical fact; it's a foundational truth for my everyday life. If the same Elohim, God the Creator, who formed galaxies and intricate ecosystems, also carefully designed me, then my worth isn't determined by my imperfections or past hurts. Instead, it's rooted in His perfect design. This realization brings such a sense of peace, especially when old feelings of abandonment or inadequacy try to creep back in. I've often struggled with anxiety, feeling overwhelmed by external pressures and the uncertainty of the future. But remembering that Elohim is the Mighty Creator of everything puts my struggles into perspective. He didn't just create the world and then step back; He actively sustains it. The same power that holds the stars in place is available to hold me through my toughest moments. This understanding is a game-changer. It helps me shift my focus from my limited human capacity to His infinite, creative power. What does this mean practically? For me, it means when I'm faced with a challenge that feels impossible, I can remind myself that nothing is too complex for the God who created light from darkness. When I feel creatively blocked, I can tap into the fact that I am made in the image of the ultimate Creator. It's a constant invitation to trust His process, His timing, and His unwavering love. This isn't about blind faith; it's about building a solid foundation on who He has revealed Himself to be through His names. Studying the names of God, like Elohim, God the Creator, has become a vital practice for me. Each name unfolds a new facet of His character, offering comfort, strength, and guidance. It's like collecting pieces of a beautiful mosaic, and with each piece, the full picture of His magnificent nature becomes clearer. This journey isn't just an academic exercise; it's a deeply personal encounter that reshapes my identity and my understanding of my place in His grand design. It teaches me to shed the weight of fear and anxiety, replacing it with the profound assurance that I am known, loved, and purposefully created by the one, true, Mighty Creator.
