Hey everyone! As a huge Stranger Things fan, I just had to share some of my absolute favorite character moments from 1985, especially focusing on Jim Hopper, Eleven, and Mike Wheeler. That year, Season 3, really brought out some incredible dynamics and pivotal storylines for our beloved Hawkins crew. Let's start with Chief Jim Hopper. Oh, Hopper! 1985 was such a rollercoaster for him. I remember feeling so much for his struggle to navigate Eleven's teenage years and her blossoming relationship with Mike. He was trying to be a protective father figure, maybe a little too protective at times, which led to some hilariously awkward but also very real moments. His whole arc with Joyce Byers, from their bickering to that unforgettable road trip and nearly-a-date, was just gold. But what really struck me was his ultimate sacrifice at Starcourt Mall. That scene, where he gives his life to close the gate, was absolutely heartbreaking and showed the depth of his love for Eleven and the town. It cemented him as a true hero in my eyes, even if we now know he somehow made it out! His iconic Hawaiian shirt will forever be a symbol of that era. Then there’s Eleven. In 1985, El was really coming into her own, exploring life outside of Hopper’s cabin. Her friendship with Max at the Starcourt Mall was such a breath of fresh air; seeing her experience normal teenage girl things like shopping and boys' advice was fantastic. She was still figuring out her powers and her place in the world, and her relationship with Mike faced its own set of teenage drama. The loss of her powers during the fight against the Mind Flayer was a huge turning point, making her feel vulnerable but also highlighting her inner strength even without her abilities. I loved seeing her grow more independent and assertive. And of course, Mike Wheeler. For Mike, 1985 was all about navigating his relationship with Eleven and the growing pains of adolescence. He was constantly trying to balance his feelings for El with maintaining his friendships, especially with Will, who was feeling left out. His struggles felt so relatable – that feeling of your friends moving in different directions while you're still stuck in the past. Despite the teenage angst, Mike always stepped up when it mattered, showing his unwavering loyalty and courage when facing the supernatural threats. He's really the heart of the core group. These characters, and their intertwined 'tales from '85, truly made that season stand out for me. What were your favorite moments or character arcs from Stranger Things Season 3? I'd love to hear them!
