Let’s talk tithes 💸💰

I know, I know. It’s a sticky topic. It evokes many emotions. Leads to thousands of questions. But one thing I can stand on is that it’s worth it.

I’ll be honest… I haven’t been tithing correctly for the past few years. I was too worried about keeping my money for the things I wanted. I didn’t take time to understand the purpose of giving. I had false pretenses and a false narrative around tithing.

This year I made it my goal to be committed to tithing and giving God 10% of what He has so graciously blessed me with.

When you understand that everything God has given you belongs to Him, it allows you to understand how generous He is that only 10% is required and the rest of the 90% is for us.

And I think a lot of times people look for financial gain back from tithing. But that isn’t my mindset. My mindset is “God allow these funds to bless my church to reach others to bring them to you.”

And in me giving my tithes for the month of January, I have witness four people come to Christ and healing in bodies. So tithing isn’t always about you, it’s about God being glorified for others to know Him 🩵

... Read moreTithing is a widely discussed but often misunderstood practice within many religious communities. At its core, tithing involves donating 10% of one's income to support church activities and outreach. While it primarily serves a spiritual purpose, it can also foster a sense of community among congregants. Many people struggle with the concept of giving, considering personal financial constraints or questioning potential returns. However, the heart of tithing is not about receiving but about creating a ripple effect of generosity that can bring about positive changes. It encourages believers to see their resources as blessings to be shared for a greater good. Historically, tithing has roots in various religious texts, but its application varies across denominations. Some churches provide specific guidelines, while others leave it up to individual discretion. This flexibility allows people to engage with the practice in a way that resonates with their personal beliefs and circumstances. Furthermore, the emotional and spiritual benefits of tithing can be profound. Many report increased trust in their faith, a deeper understanding of community needs, and a commitment to social responsibility. The act of giving creates a shared mission that aligns individual purpose with collective goals. In contemporary society, discussions surrounding tithing often intersect with broader conversations about financial literacy and charitable giving. As individuals explore their financial landscapes, understanding how tithing contributes to a sustainable church mission can be enlightening. Those interested in enhancing their spiritual journey through tithing may also look into how these contributions support various programs that serve the less fortunate, educational initiatives, and outreach missions, making an undeniably positive impact in both local and global contexts.
