First Fountain Pen Unboxing 🖊️ 🤎
Pen: Majohn, fine nib 🖊️ (Amazon)
Ink: Hongdian, brown color 🤎 (Amazon)
I went with an affordable option to start and I’ve seen a lot of ppl recommend this specific pen. She does have a thicker body and will take some getting used to. I have never written with a fountain before and I don’t have the best penmanship 🥴. I am a super fast writer so this will help me slow down when writing and journaling.
What is your fav fountain pen and ink? I’m a fall girlie so brown tones and fall tones for ink are my preference 🍂🧡🍁.

Starting my fountain pen journey with the Majohn fine nib was an exciting experience. I was drawn to its thicker body, which initially felt unusual but gradually became comfortable with regular use. This pen really encourages me to slow down and be more mindful as I write, which is a welcome change since I'm naturally a fast writer. Choosing the brown Hongdian ink was perfect for me because I love warm, earthy tones that match the feel of autumn. The ink flows smoothly and complements the pen’s fine nib beautifully, enhancing my journaling with a cozy, inviting color that’s both elegant and subtle. If you’re new to fountain pens like I was, start with more affordable and highly recommended models — it makes the learning curve less intimidating. Also, experimenting with different ink colors can add a personal touch to your writing. Fall hues, especially browns and burnt oranges, are great choices to evoke a seasonal mood. One surprising benefit I found is that writing slower with a fountain pen improves my penmanship. The tactile sensation and slight resistance of the nib encourage careful strokes, which helped me develop neater handwriting over time. The phrase I found meaningful during this journey is "temperature of writing," reflecting how fountain pens add a warmth and personality that digital typing just can’t replicate. Whether journaling or letter writing, these tools bring a soulful connection to the act of putting thoughts on paper. For anyone interested, share your favorite pens and inks — do you prefer bold blues, classic blacks, or warm browns like me?
