Cornbread is easy to make

2 c. yellow cornmeal

1 c. all-purpose flour

2 tsp. salt

2 Tbsp. baking powder

2 c. milk (might need a splash more if dry looking)

1 egg

1/2 tsp. baking soda

1/4 c. plus 2tbs oil

Start by adding 2tbs oil in pan, place in the oven, and preheat at 425° let this oil become hot, so roughly 10 minutes in the oven should suffice.

Combine all dry ingredients. Next, you will add your wet ingredients and mix well.

Once you have your mixture, pour into a hot skillet. It should sizzle when you do this.

Bake at 425 for 25 minutes or until done in the center.

(optional) Add tabs of butter on top

You can always add things like peppers, corn cheese, etc, before adding to the pan, but personally, I wanted the crispy cheese, and the rest of the house just wanted plain cornbread. #recipe #food #cornbread #tutorials #southerncooking
