Actually, I’m NOT refusing ANY food - mi deh ya fi NYAM 🤣🤣
Losing 80lbs is a huge personal accomplishment and when you return home for special events like carnival, the food offers can be relentless. From my own experience, I learned that saying no too often can make you feel left out or like you’re missing part of the celebration. Instead, I chose to embrace the food culture and enjoy the flavors without guilt. Carnival is not just about the food; it's about community, traditions, and sharing moments with family and friends. When people offer you food, they’re showing love and care, which is important to appreciate emotionally as well as physically. I found that by allowing myself to taste the dishes in moderation, I could balance my health goals while still honoring the hospitality around me. A helpful tip I followed was portion control—taking small servings so I could enjoy several dishes without overdoing it. Staying active during carnival days also made it easier to manage extra calories. Plus, the joy and laughter shared during these gatherings made the experience worth every bite. Ultimately, my journey taught me that food is a part of life’s celebrations, and with mindful choices, it’s possible to enjoy the moment without compromising your goals. Don’t be too hard on yourself—celebrate your progress and connect with loved ones through the shared joy of food.
