Depending on Jesus: “Lord, I’m leaning—please hold
We passed this old, leaning building and I couldn’t stop staring.
By all human standards, it should’ve collapsed years ago.
But it hasn’t.
It made me think about the days I’m tired, worn down, and barely upright. The days I’m leaning hard.
I don’t stand because I’m strong—I stand because Jesus is holding me up.
Grace doesn’t always make you look perfect… sometimes it just keeps you standing

Sometimes life feels like that old, leaning building—on the verge of collapse but still standing against all odds. It’s in those moments, when exhaustion weighs heavy and strength seems gone, that the true meaning of faith becomes clear. Leaning on Jesus is not about having all the answers or being perfectly strong; it's about trusting a power greater than yourself to hold you up when you feel you can’t go on. This concept aligns closely with the idea of grace, which doesn't demand perfection but offers support through hardship. Grace is the unseen force that prevents us from falling apart when our own strength falters. Many people facing life's roadblocks, whether emotional, spiritual, or physical, find comfort in this type of faith. It provides resilience, much like how the leaning building endures despite its battered appearance. When we travel life's roadtrip—full of unexpected detours and rough patches—leaning on faith can be our Bucket List Idea for inner peace and strength. Embracing this mindset encourages us to accept vulnerability without shame and to allow ourselves to be held through tough seasons. In this way, depending on Jesus becomes a daily practice rather than a one-time solution. Recognizing that strength comes from leaning—rather than standing tall alone—offers a more compassionate view of ourselves and our journeys. So on the days you’re tired and barely upright, remember that grace might not make you look perfect, but it will keep you standing.
