Trying a new Bakery: Katie’s Bakery

... Read moreI recently had the chance to visit Katie’s Bakery in Lewiston and try some of their signature items, and I wanted to share a bit more about my experience beyond the initial tasting. The standouts for me were definitely the baklava varieties. Usually, baklava can be overwhelming due to its sweetness, but Katie’s versions, particularly the pistachio chocolate baklava, struck a nice balance by combining rich chocolate with the nutty pistachio flavor, making it more approachable if you typically find baklava too sugary. The texture was delicate but held together well, which made it easy to enjoy without too much mess. The plain baklava was also enjoyable but leaned a bit sweeter, so if you prefer a more subtle taste, the pistachio chocolate version might be a better pick. As a coffee fan, I was excited to try the tiramisu cake. It had a mild coffee flavor that was pleasant but could be bolder for those who really love that espresso kick. Still, it was creamy and moist, making it an enjoyable treat for someone wanting a classic dessert without it being overpowering. The atmosphere of Katie’s Bakery was welcoming, and the staff were very friendly and helpful, which enhanced the whole experience. It’s clear they take pride in their products and want customers to feel comfortable while making their selections. If you find yourself in the Lewiston area and are in the mood for some sweet treats with both classic and unique twists, Katie’s Bakery is definitely worth a stop. Whether you’re a baklava aficionado or a tiramisu lover, there’s something here that might become a new favorite. Personally, I’ll be returning to try more items and see what other delicious surprises they have in store. Plus, supporting a new local business feels good and encourages the community to keep growing. Have you tried any new bakeries lately? It’s always fun to discover those hidden gems that might soon become go-to spots for your dessert cravings!
