My son loves Ice cream and learning that a lot of it isn’t real made me sick… I ran across @Zakia B. No Churn Ice cream recipe and HAD to give it a try.
I ran to #williamssonoma and grabbed a “Ice cream storage Container” so fast and got to it!
I am so glad that I did because this taste better than what’s at the store ✨✨✨✨
After making that incredible vanilla no-churn ice cream, I realized just how versatile this base recipe is! It's so easy to go from a simple vanilla to a whole world of amazing ice cream treats. If you've got your heavy whipping cream, sweetened condensed milk, and maybe even some vanilla bean paste ready, here are some fun ways I've experimented to elevate my homemade ice cream game and make truly special treats: Endless Flavor Possibilities with Your No-Churn Base! The beauty of the no-churn method is how easily you can customize flavors. Once you have your whipped cream and condensed milk mixture, before freezing, that's your canvas! Chocolate Lover's Dream: Whisk in 1/2 cup of unsweetened cocoa powder with the condensed milk for a rich chocolate base. You can also fold in chocolate chips or chopped chocolate bars for an extra decadent treat. Fruity Swirls: Gently fold in pureed fresh berries (strawberries, raspberries, blueberries) or a fruit compote for a refreshing swirl. A little lemon zest also brightens up the flavor beautifully. Coffee Kick: Dissolve 1-2 tablespoons of instant espresso powder in a tiny bit of hot water, let it cool, and then add it to your mixture for a delightful coffee-flavored ice cream. Perfect for an affogato! Cookies & Cream: Crush about 10-12 Oreo cookies (or your favorite biscuit) and fold them into the mixture just before transferring to your ice cream storage container. This is always a crowd-pleaser! Nutty & Caramel: Swirl in some caramel sauce and chopped pecans or walnuts for a deliciously crunchy and sweet combination. Mint Chocolate Chip: Add a few drops of peppermint extract and some mini chocolate chips for a refreshing treat. Turning Ice Cream into Glorious Treats Remember, your homemade ice cream isn't just dessert; it's the foundation for so many incredible treats! Here are some of my personal favorites: The Ultimate Sundae Bar: Set out bowls of toppings like hot fudge, caramel sauce, sprinkles, maraschino cherries, chopped nuts, fresh fruit, and extra whipped cream. Let everyone build their own masterpiece. This is a huge hit for parties! Homemade Ice Cream Sandwiches: Bake some soft chocolate chip cookies (or any favorite cookie), let them cool completely, then spread a generous scoop of your homemade ice cream between two cookies. Wrap them individually in parchment paper and freeze for an hour or two for a fantastic grab-and-go treat. Milkshakes & Smoothies: Blend a scoop or two of your ice cream with milk and any desired flavorings (like fruit or chocolate syrup) for a thick, creamy milkshake. You can also add it to fruit smoothies for extra richness. Affogato Delight: For a simple yet elegant treat, place a scoop of your vanilla bean ice cream in a mug and pour a shot of hot espresso over it. The contrast of hot and cold, bitter and sweet, is just divine. Storing your creations properly in a good ice cream storage container helps keep them fresh and scoopable. Don't be afraid to get creative and have fun with it – that's the best part of making homemade ice cream treats!
