I’m just a mom
Hiiiiii👋 I’m Julie, a first-time mom with a 5 month old baby, and wow…it’s been so much! Some days I feel like I’ve got this, and other days, I feel like a clueless teenager (Motherhood and postpartum is no joke 😭).
I’ve learned so much these last few months. What’s actually useful, what’s nice-to-have-but-not-essential, and what’s fluff (I feel like there’s so much out there that’s advertised to new moms as “essential” but I don’t actually use them??). I figured it might be worth sharing what’s worked for me and what hasn’t with others who might be going through the same thing?
I’m still figuring it out day by day but I’d love for this space to be a mix of sharing what I’ve done, what I’m trying next, and getting advice from YOU too. Can’t wait to connect with you all—let me know what you wish someone had told you when you started your parenting journey! 💕
Motherhood can feel overwhelming, especially in those early months with a newborn. Many new moms like me often question what baby items are genuinely essential versus what is just marketing hype. Practical items to consider may include a reliable baby monitor, a comfortable nursing pillow, and easy-to-use swaddles that can make life easier during those sleepless nights. Additionally, creating a support network, whether through local mom groups or online forums, can provide much-needed encouragement and advice. As first-time mothers, sharing experiences can help demystify this challenging yet rewarding journey. Don't hesitate to reach out and ask for advice or share your own tips on what has been beneficial in your parenting experience! From bonding activities with your baby to postpartum self-care, there’s a wealth of knowledge out there to navigate this adventure better. Remember, it’s okay not to have all the answers right away; we’re in this together!
