Kosanrei Shrine located in the north of Hasama-cho, Yufu City, Oita Prefecture, is a shrine with a history of more than 1000 years, known for its benefits of longevity and disaster prevention 🌿
📖 Shrine biography, it is said that it started on October 3, 1011 (Kanko 8), when Gyoja Gozan Osho enshrined Myoken Daibosatsu, and it was also called Myokengu in ancient times. After the Meiji era, it has been renamed to the current name of Kosanrei Shrine.
⚔️ the Warring States period, Hasama Shiro Naoshige who ruled this area and the warlord Hama Shigehide who made many war achievements also worshiped deeply as a ujigami. In 1586, the shrine was destroyed by fire in the Hosatsu War, but in the Edo period, under the protection of the Usuki clan and the Inaba clan, festivals and construction were done at the expense of the domain.

検索している方が多い「皇産霊神社のご利益」について、私が現地で感じたことをもう少し補足します。皇産霊神社（みむすび神社）は、名前の通り“生命を結ぶ力”を大切にしている神社で、長寿延命・除災招福に加えて、節目の祈り（安産祈願〜お宮参り、七五三など）と相性がいい印象でした。境内に入ると、木々に囲まれた参道と石段が続き、鳥居の先の空気がすっと静かになります。観光地のにぎやかさとは違って、気持ちを整えて「お願い事を言葉にする」時間が取りやすい場所でした。 勝運（合格祈願）目当ての方は、参拝の流れを決めておくと安心です。手水舎で手と口を清めてから、拝殿で二拝二拍手一拝。お願いは“結果”だけでなく、「当日落ち着いて力を出し切れますように」など自分の行動に結びつく形にすると、参拝後の気持ちの支えになりました。社殿にはしめ縄と御幣がきれいに飾られていて、神様との距離が近いように感じられるのも魅力です。 「癌封じ 神社 最強 大分」や「大分 お祓い 霊」といった検索も見かけますが、個人的には、まずは“厄を祓って立て直したい”“不安を軽くしたい”という広い意味でのお祓い・心身清浄の場として捉えるのが自然だと思いました。強い不安がある時ほど、森の中の静けさ、苔むした石やしめ縄の景色に意識を向けるだけで呼吸が深くなります。境内には「妙見石」と刻まれた石碑もあり、昔「妙見宮」と呼ばれていた歴史に触れられるのもポイントでした。 挾間町エリアでの立ち寄りとしては、参拝は朝〜昼の明るい時間帯が歩きやすくおすすめです。石段は足元が滑りやすい日もあるので、歩きやすい靴だと安心。山々に囲まれたのどかな町並みもきれいで、参拝後に景色を眺めながら余韻に浸れるのも由布市挾間町ならではでした。願い事がある時はもちろん、「最近ちょっと流れを変えたい」と思った時にも、皇産霊神社はそっと背中を押してくれる場所だと感じました。
