Heita Jingu is located in Yamato-cho, Kumamoto Prefecture, almost in the center of Kyushu ⛩️
It is also called "Hinomiya" and is a mysterious forest that has been handed down as the oldest shrine in Japan.
It all started about 15,000 years ago.
Takeiwatatsu no Mikoto, the grandson of Emperor Jinmu and the god of Mt. Aso, established a currency in the area.
It is said that it started by worshiping the gods who descended from the universe 🌌

Amenominakanushi no Okami (the god of heaven)
Amaterasu Omikami
And the only one in the world that is enshrined only here is the Great Universe Yamato God (Otonochi Okami) ✨

初めて幣立神宮（へいたてじんぐう）を歩いたとき、いちばん印象に残ったのは「参道に入った瞬間の空気が変わる感じ」でした。木々の緑が濃くて、光が葉の間から落ちてくるだけで神秘的。苔むした道標に「日の宮 幣立神宮」と書かれているのを見つけた瞬間、“ここが噂の日の宮か…”と気持ちが切り替わりました。 よく検索されている「幣立神宮 階段 何段？」については、正直に言うと“公式に◯段”と断言できる表示は現地で見つけられず、数え方（どこからどこまでを階段に含めるか）でも変わりそうでした。私は途中で数えるのをやめました…というのも、段差が連続する場所だけじゃなく、緩やかな上り・小さな段・踊り場が混ざっていて、体感としては「じわじわ登るタイプ」。なので、段数を目的にするより、歩きやすい靴で“参道そのものを味わう”のがおすすめです。雨上がりは苔で滑りやすい所があるので、足元は特に注意しました。 参道の見どころは、まず狛犬。苔と注連縄の組み合わせが渋くて、写真に撮ると一気に雰囲気が出ます。さらに進むと、注連縄が張られた御神木が本当に大きくて、見上げる角度になるので自然と深呼吸したくなります。私はそこで立ち止まって、手を合わせるというより“静かに整う時間”をもらった感じでした。 「幣立神宮 神代文字」が気になる人も多いと思います。境内は情報量が多いので、事前に“神代文字を探すぞ”と決めておくと見落としにくいです。案内板や掲示物を丁寧に読むと、それっぽい記載や説明に出会えることがあります（撮影可否の表示があれば従うのが安心）。私は、文字そのものよりも「神代の物語が今も息づく」という世界観が、森の静けさとセットで腑に落ちるのが面白かったです。 最後に、「みどりの日 イラスト」みたいなキーワードで探している人へ。幣立神宮の緑は“イラスト映え”というより“緑の層が深い”タイプ。空を覆う葉、幹の質感、苔の色味が全部違うので、写真を撮ったあとにイラスト化したくなる素材が多いです。木を見上げる構図で撮ると、森の神秘感が出やすかったです。
