Since its construction in 1394, Kitsuki Castle has been overlooking the town of Kitsuki for about 600 years 🏯
Originally "Kitsuki Castle."
However, in the Edo period, the name "Kitsuki" was mistakenly written on the shogunate's red seal, so both the castle and the town came to be called by that name 📜✨
During the Warring States period, it became the stage of the Hosatsu Battle, and the siege battle that defeated the large army of Shimazu tells the strength of this castle.
In the Edo period, the domain office of the Kitsuki Domain was placed, and it has changed its appearance through many trials, such as being burned down by lightning and being destroyed by the Ikkoku Ichijo Ordinance.
Currently, the three-story simulated castle tower built on the Honmaru castle tower remains,

In 2020, the castle ruins and the lord's palace ruins were designated as national historic sites.
