Rating the goodie bag items from birthday parties
Kids these days are so blessed! Im thankful for all the gifts we have received from his friends, im sure all the parents racked their brains to come up with a budgeted useful gift 😆 Thought it'd be fun to just take a look at what my son has received so far! (Whatever i can remember)

Generally categorising them...
1. Cognitive play (puzzle, tangram)
I personally think these are great! Simple yet useful toys for sure.
2. Fine motor play (stationery, sticker book)
Not too bad i would say, though i would say those pre-packed gift sets (that comes with pencils, eraser, ruler, etc) generally looks good (kinda) but quality wise hmm...
3. Sensory play (playdough, kinetic sand, bubbles, pop it toy)
Sensory play yes! I think bubbles are pretty common in goodie bags - old but gold! You can never have too many, since they go missing easily lol.
4. Others (mini fan, wetbag, mini vehicle toy, DIY kit, kaleidoscope)
Pretty okay gifts as well. I specially like the wet bag, which was personalised with his name - so sweet!
Which is your fave? 😊 and what other gifts do you think makes useful gifts?
In addition to the cognitive, fine motor, and sensory play items mentioned, I’ve found that a goodie bag with personalized or unique items really stands out. For example, a mini wet bag with the child’s name adds a thoughtful touch and can be reused — this is not only eco-friendly but also practical for parents. Also, small DIY kits or mini vehicles can spark creativity and keep kids engaged beyond the party. When selecting stationery sets, it’s worthwhile to check the quality rather than just the look. Sometimes, simple sticker books or themed items like Baby Shark stickers are big hits with toddlers. From my experience, including a mix of familiar favorites like bubbles and pop-it toys along with less common items creates a well-balanced goodie bag. It appeals to different interests and developmental stages. Plus, parents appreciate gifts that encourage cognitive and sensory development. Ultimately, a good goodie bag balances fun, practicality, and mindfulness of budget constraints. Including varied items that promote learning and play ensures the bag is both enjoyable and valuable to the little ones receiving them.
