✨First Time Trying L'Oreal ✨

UPDATE: So I have been using the shampoo for quite a while I'm almost done with it. I would say that it does get rid of the oily scalp feel and the oily root feel if you have super greasy hair. it does do its job. it does make your hair feel a little bit more hydrated. I'd say if I had to give a rating it'd probably be like an 8.5 out of 10!!

This is the first time I bought a L'Oreal product TODAY. I did some research and I was told that this is the best shampoo for oily scalp and Oily hair.

I've tried loads of different products from dermatology tested, non dermatology, expensive shampoos, non-expensive shampoos, different brands for oily based scalp and oily based hair products! I've tried every single one besides this product.

I have super oily base hair and a sensitive scalp!

I was told by different employees throughout the store, hair salons, beauty influencers, beauty stores and whatnot that trying a L'Oreal product that helps with oily scalp and oily hair should help me.

I only purchased the shampoo because that's the only thing that I can afford at the moment.

In order for it to work I have to try it for 2 to 3 weeks to see if it really does its job.

I will try this L'Oreal product for 2 to 3 weeks starting today, I will update this post and let you guys know if it does work or if it doesn't work.

... Read moreOkay, let's be real – dealing with an oily scalp can feel like a never-ending battle. I know the struggle of waking up with fresh hair only for it to look greasy by midday! That's why finding the right shampoo is a game-changer. Following up on my initial review of the L'Oréal Purifying Shampoo for oily roots and scalp, I wanted to dive a bit deeper into why it (or any good purifying shampoo) makes such a difference. Many of us are curious about what's actually in our haircare, and L'Oréal, like many brands, uses ingredients aimed at specific concerns. For oily scalps, you'll often find ingredients designed to absorb excess oil, gently exfoliate, or balance sebum production. Think about how purifying products often contain elements like clay to soak up oil, or salicylic acid to help with scalp exfoliation and unclogging pores. While I'm not a chemist, my experience tells me that these targeted formulas are key to getting that clean, fresh feeling without stripping your hair entirely. It’s about creating a better environment for your scalp without causing irritation, especially for those of us with sensitive skin. Speaking of not stripping your hair, that's where a balanced routine comes in. My focus initially was just on the shampoo, but I've learned that a truly effective regimen often involves more. Looking at the L'Oréal range, it's clear they design products to work together. For instance, the purifying shampoo for oily roots and scalp often has a companion rehydrating conditioner. This is crucial because while your roots produce excess oil, your hair lengths can still get dry or 'dehydrated,' especially if you have longer hair or process it. Using a rehydrating conditioner specifically for your lengths helps to nourish them without adding extra grease to your scalp. It's about targeting different needs of your hair, not just slathering one product everywhere. This holistic approach is what truly tackles the 'is L'Oréal shampoo good for oily hair' question – it's often about finding the right combination within their offerings to achieve the best results. Beyond specific products, there are a few other tricks I've picked up to manage my oily scalp. First, try not to overwash. It sounds counterintuitive, but washing too frequently can sometimes signal your scalp to produce more oil. I try to extend my wash days with dry shampoo on day two or three. Second, watch your water temperature – lukewarm is better than scorching hot, as hot water can stimulate oil glands. Third, be mindful of styling products. Heavy creams or serums near the roots can weigh hair down and make it look greasy faster. I stick to lightweight options or apply products only to my ends. Also, don't underestimate the power of gentle scalp massage when shampooing – it helps to loosen buildup without over-stimulating. And finally, regularly cleaning your hairbrushes makes a huge difference; they can accumulate oil and product residue, which you then transfer back to your clean hair. These small changes, combined with a targeted shampoo like L'Oréal's purifying option, can really transform your oily hair journey. It’s about consistency and understanding what your hair and scalp truly need.
